ARTHUR PINNER (PENNER) GRAVE SITE
Lies on Parcel #31-11-25-0000-0010-0000,
and is owned by the United States of America. There is a ground monument is a 4 x 4
concrete post with name Arthur Penner
on a metal plate. Metal plate on tree
next to ground monument reads “Arthur
Pinner C.S.A.”. Note the
difference in the spelling of the last name.
Take NF 77 off SR 19, just south of the Ocklawaha
River Bridge. Go west to NF 88. Continue 1.25 miles on NE 77 to monument and tree on the south
side of road (about 20 feet off road).
It may also be confused with the ILLINGWORTH or PENNER
POND CEMETERY,
which is nearby. LAKE

Hartman’s BIOGRAPHICAL ROSTERS OF FLORIDA’S
CONFEDERATE AND UNION SOLDIERS 1861-1865, vol. III, c1995, page 951, lists
the following information:
“Pinner,
Arthur (b. 1818) enlisted 8/21/63
at Station #4, FRR and was detached to make shoes for his neighborhood in late
1863.”
