BRADDOCK CEMETERY
aka MASON-DENVER CEMETERY Owned
by Ada Thorn, aka This marker is to commemorate THE BATTLE OF BRADDOCK'S FARM, and gives an overview of the battle of approximately 100 Union soldiers, versus 57 Southern soldiers under the command of Capt. J. J. Dickison near the location of the marker. The marker was erected by the FLORIDA CONFEDERATION FOR THE PRESERVATION OF HISTORIC SITES, which has taken the care and cleanup of this cemetery on as a project. This is a private cemetery that was on the former farm of James Aldrich Braddock, who is buried on this site. This cemetery is located approximately 100 yards off the paved road behind and to the left of the historical marker. NOTE: This cemetery
“inherited” some of the Orange Mills MAYS--SIMPKINS--COLE
CEMETERY markers in 1971-72, when its owners wanted their property
for development. Many of these stones were moved to the ST. JOHN
THE EVANGELIST CEMETERY for storage, but many large base stones and
fragments remain, including fencing.
